Scholarship Information
Brookline High School Scholarships
The Brookline High School scholarship program is more extensive and varied than scholarship programs at many public high schools. Brookline High School has a long tradition of philanthropy and benefits from strong community support and educational resources.
The Brookline High School Scholarship Committee is responsible for awarding scholarship funds to graduating seniors according to the criteria established by individual scholarship funds and donors.
The committee’s goal is to distribute scholarship funding as equitably as possible while prioritizing financial need whenever applicable.
Financial Aid Information
Students applying for scholarships are generally required to submit:
- The Brookline High School scholarship application
- A completed CSS Profile (BHS School Code: 0424)
- College financial aid award letters
The committee may also consider family financial circumstances, including home equity and other resources, when reviewing applications.
Scholarship Timeline
February
Applications for Boston University and Northeastern University tuition scholarships are distributed between midyear exams and February vacation.
March
The Scholarship Committee meets weekly to review finalists for Boston University and Northeastern University scholarships.
April
Applications for scholarships applicable to any college are distributed in the weeks leading up to April vacation.
May
After students make their college decisions and submit enrollment deposits, scholarship applications are reviewed once all required materials have been received.
The Scholarship Committee conducts its annual review process in mid-May and sends award notifications and Scholarship Breakfast invitations shortly afterward.
June
The Scholarship Breakfast is held on the morning of graduation.

Scholarship Funds
- Allen-Meyers Graduate Scholarship Fund: Supports graduating seniors with financial need through an umbrella scholarship fund originally established by Brookline High teachers and retirees.
- Dr. Robert J. Weintraub Scholarship Fund: Honors former Headmaster Bob Weintraub and supports a graduating student who demonstrates qualities associated with his leadership.
- Lindsay Murphy Scholarship Fund: Recognizes a student who reflects the caring and compassionate leadership style of former Associate Dean Lindsay Murphy.
- Scott Butchart Scholarship: Supports a graduating senior who has persevered through personal challenges while working toward meaningful life goals.
Scholarships from the Brookline Community Foundation
Established in 2014, the Brookline Community Foundation Scholarship Fund for Brookline High School provides need-based scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing college, vocational training, or other postsecondary education opportunities.
Since its founding, the fund has awarded significant financial support to Brookline High School students, helping reduce barriers to higher education and professional training.
