The NHS Chapter at Brookline High School
Requirements
National Honor Society recognizes student achievement across four pillars: scholarship, service, character, and leadership.
- Scholarship: GPA of 3.3 or higher
- Service: 15 hours of community service completed during junior year, from September through August
- Character: No scholastic or behavioral conduct violations
- Leadership: A history of initiative and leadership throughout high school
Upon acceptance, students commit to completing an additional 20 hours of service during senior year.

FAQs
What is the timeline for Juniors?
- Applications are sent to qualified students in mid-October and are due one week after they are distributed.
- Conditionally accepted students must attend an assembly during X Block.
I am a Senior. What should I do now?
Students should maintain their GPA and complete community service requirements.
Students may use this community service tracking Google Sheet to record service hours. Make and save a personal copy to maintain your own record.
